Overview of Sector-by-Sector Clone
Many backup software programs offer a "sector-by-sector clone" feature, which clones all sectors on a hard drive or solid-state drive (SSD), including blank or logically bad sectors. This feature is useful when users want to create an exact copy of their drive, including all data and sectors, even if some sectors are not being used or are damaged. A sector is a subdivision of a track on a disk that stores a fixed amount of user-accessible data. This feature is particularly useful for cloning HDDs or SSDs, allowing users to create a precise duplicate of their drive.
Generally, a sector-A sector-by-sector clone makes no difference to a normal backup. However, if your data is crucial and you want to ensure recovery even if the hard drive has a bad sector, you can opt for this clone mode. This ensures that data from the bad sector can still be recovered.

1. Launch Qiling Backup and choose "Disk/partition Clone" feature.
Step 2. Select the Windows disk or partition that you need to clone and click "Next".
To clone a Windows 10/8/7 partition or disk using Sector by Sector clone under Advanced options, make sure to tick the box to clone every part of the partition or disk without losing any data.
Step 3. Choose the target partition or hard disk that you want to clone to.
Step 4. Preview the disk layout to confirm the settings of the source and destination disk. Click "Proceed" to execute disk clone.

After completing the operation, close the Qiling clone software. Then, go to Windows Disk Management to verify that the cloned disk is identical to the source disk.
To access Disk Management on a Windows 7 computer, go to My Computer, click on Manage, and then select Storage, followed by Disk Management.
For Windows 10 computers, go to This PC, then click on Manage, followed by Storage, and finally Disk Management.
